And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela
The Full Moon on February 16, 2022, at 27 Leo
brings attention to our heart and to what we love.
This is the time for nurturing joy in what we do and what we say. It is about letting our heart guide us
in the decisions we make and in what we elect to prioritize.
Leo is the creative life force that moves through the heart. The Moon is the only planet in a fire sign at this time. Essentially, its presence is re-igniting our inner fire, and what makes us tick. The Moon is illuminating the contents of our heart, inspiring us to create, opening us to healing, and having us demonstrate or share in a way that empowers and enlivens.
The Sun, ruler of the Leo Full Moon, is as with all Full Moons in exact opposition to the silvery orb of the Moon. We have been geared to rational and objective thinking especially around the vision for how to move together going forward (Sun in Aquarius). The Full Moon brings us back to our heart, validating what lights us up (Moon in Leo). The Full Moon each month is a time when the month’s efforts reach culmination and so there is intensity as we complete, integrate or face a culminating crisis moment. We may rediscover what we have forgotten or downplayed that is meaningful to us. Our courage is being fueled to take steps in a new direction with an unprecedented shift to move towards something magnifies our loving nature.
Being Lion-Hearted
Full Moon illuminates Regulus
The Leo Moon illuminates the fixed star, Regulus. Regulus is the Heart of the Lion in the constellation of Leo. It is the King Star, the star of Leadership. Lions are referred to as the King of the Jungle. The movie the Lion King is based on the premise that the balance of life is held through the empowered and heart-centered leadership of the Lion King. Similarly, we can look to accepting the mantle of leadership within our own lives. We can heal patterns of victimization and powerlessness, so we own the authorship of our lives.
27 degrees – Completions and Endings
This is one of 7 consecutive Full Moons that occur near the end of a sign at 27 degrees. We are alerted that this is a period of time where we are looking to complete something, bring closure, or release attachment to the past. In our individual natal charts, if we have planets that reside between 26 and 28 degrees, this may be a time of transformative endings and beginnings, especially if the planets are in a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). This series of Full Moons mirror other planetary dynamics that signal a time of transition, where an old way of operating needs to fall away as we open us to a new way of living and experiencing life.
Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth.
To be consciously aware of it,
to experience love in ourselves and others,
is the meaning of life.
Meaning does not lie in things.
Meaning lies in us.
Marianne Williamson
A Fixed Grand Cross with The Full Moon squaring the Nodal Axis
There is an inner pressure we are feeling between what has become habitual and a new but unknown way of operating. We may find it difficult to be at peace within ourselves or our lives. We are being prodded, even goaded to grow and evolve, to move beyond our comfort zone and even our personal preferences. Instead of feeling courageous, we may be feeling a kind of paralysis or impotency when facing change. (Grand Cross in Fixed Signs). There may be great resistance to letting go of what we have or what we know about ourselves - even if we are aware it no longer serves us. If we remain stuck, the pressure will simply increase. Our vitality will begin to stagnate the longer we resist the change that our heart is calling us to make.
We are at a pivotal juncture in looking at what will remain in our lives and what needs to be released. In 2022, the Nodes of Fate point to the change as a movement towards simplicity and to release drama, past hurts and complexity. We can ask ourselves: how can I lighten my load?
We have access to steely determination and dogged tenacity (Fixed Grand Cross). The Aquarian Sun arouses our ideals and a readiness to stand for truth. The shadow sign of this same configuration can be arrogance and stubbornness, with the proclivity to force one’s beliefs onto life, like pushing a square peg into a round hole. We are not in good relationship with our heart if we are demonstrating inflated pride and a compulsive need to take center stage or demanding attention.
The Leo Moon provides the key for how to move through this passage of change in a beautiful way. It boils down to listening to our heart. We can ask ourselves if we are lit up by what we are doing, who we are doing it with, and where our life is heading? If we don’t feel lit up, then there is something to release and shift.
We are to lower the volume on what our rational mind is spouting and listen to what warms our heart and brings us joy. There are other astrological movements over the last year that have us looking to a collective vision for the new and different future that fulfills the needs of humanity and our world. Within this, we are now to pause, feel and align with what will personally fulfill us within the larger vision. In truth, there is no better gift we can offer the world than to share our light, our love and our joy.
The Full Moon reminds us that all good movements begin, and perhaps end with, a movement from the heart. We are looking for the proper balance between the head (Aquarius) and the heart (Leo). The most brilliant of ideas (Aquarius) will not amount to much unless it is infused with the creative fire of the heart (Leo).
Transformation and the Presence of Pluto
We are effectively in a crucible, where the internal temperature is rising in order to transmute something dense into something refined, like gold. We are to welcome the heat, the rising tension and look for the opportunity for something essential to be transformed so that our lives feed and nurture our most basic and essential human needs. (Pluto trine the North Node)
We may experience intense feelings that reveal compulsive or obsessive needs. Rather than simply meeting the need to satisfy the desire, we can make room for the feelings. Allowing for and experiencing our feelings has the potential to transform and connect us with our true heart’s desire. (Pluto quincunx the Leo Moon)
We are not held back by the love we didn't receive in the past,
but by the love we're not extending in the present.

Passionate Responsibility
Venus conjoined Mars in Capricorn
Venus and Mars are the lovers of the night sky. They are the yin (Venus) and the yang (Mars) and together off the reconciliation of polarity, blending love with action. They are sparking passion as they traveling together until early April. In Capricorn, it is passion for a work, or a challenge, or a responsibility that calls to us. Not only are we supported to do what we love, but there is great potential for feeling inspired and passionate about engaging it.
Over the next weeks, we may find like-minded people who share our passion, our vision and find ways to enliven and support each other. We may rekindle the passion in our current relationships or meet a new romantic partner. In Capricorn, there is a seriousness to relationships in that we will be looking the of the relationship and what will be achieved through the partnership. We will look to build trust based on mutual agreements and accountability. With Venus and Mars working together, we can empower and revitalize our relationships and how we relate to others.
Last week, we may have felt freed up in some way, able to let down our hair, or interact in a fresh and enlivening way that was new for us. There was an opportunity to break out of our normal ways of relating and find greater freedom. (Uranus trine Venus/Mars).
For the next week, our imagination and intuition is heightened. The ability to approach relationships with compassion is amplified. We can more readily forgive slights and find creative solutions to issues that we are facing in relationship. We may feel energized around responsibilities and how to approach the structures of our lives. (Neptune trine Venus/Mars)
People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within.”
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
The Change is Lead by the People
Leaders can Rise and Fall
The Full moon opposing the U.S. Moon and the U.S. Pluto Return
The U.S.Natal Moon is at 27 Aquarius signifying a people who are progressive, freedom loving, inventive and revolutionary. The Full Moon is happening within degree of the total solar eclipse of August 2017. The path of that eclipse moved from the east to the west of the country, dividing the north from the south. Since there has been division between the country's people. The Full Moon can mark increased polarization. It can also fuel a coming together and a recognition of a common heart and unification of the people.
The Full moon also happens a day before the exact Pluto Return for the United States. The country is poised for crisis that pushes the country towards transformation and a rebirth. There will be great tension and change around the interpretation and possible revision of the constitution, the structure and soundness of financial systems and the use of resources/land/agriculture.
The Proclamation of independence by Ukraine from the USSR occurred August 24, 1991, at 5:31 pm BGT (2:31 pm GMT), in Kiev. The Moon of this chart, modern Ukraine's birthchart, is within a degree of the U.S. Moon and is thus highlighted by the Leo Full Moon.
We return to Regulus, the star of kingship, that is prominent at the Full Moon. The Moon signifies that change will come from the people. Yet, the presence of Regulus signifies that there is movement within leadership. Can leadership move from the heart, or will the shadow side of the Grand Cross have them act with pride, arrogance and a stubbornness that guides the next movements between Ukraine, the U.S., Russia, Europe and the world in the coming weeks?
In Summary,
Anytime you try to be a loving person, you're doing your part to save the world.
Marianne Williamson
The Leo Full Moon is a wakeup call that reminds us that if we are too caught up with what is happening in the world, getting caught in intellectualization or debate, we are missing the moment. We are missing the opportunity to nurture and feed what inspires and brings life. All the planets are moving direct for the next couple months. Change may be uncomfortable, but potentially rewarding. Striking out in a new direction can stir deep feeling. We have the opportunity to lighten our load, release the past, and let our light shine in a way that will increase the joy in our lives and the lives of those we touch.
