The New Moon on February 27, 2025 at 10 Pisces 745 pm EST
stirs the soul and throws open a window to let the dreams in.
Imagination, creativity and spiritual understanding are emphasized as our focus is pulled inward and skyward, into the depths and in response to the pull of what lies beyond the civilized. The world seems less solid and fixed, and more fluid and dreamlike. We are susceptible to deep releases, spiritual connections and visions of new potentials. Waves of forgiveness, compassion and unconditional love may break through our defenses to wash away old karmic patterns and help us meet life with a heart filled with love.
During this historic period of transformative change, the Pisces New Moon lets us know that the time is ripe for a new dream to take shape – a dream for our personal lives and for the collective. It is not up to us to formulate and shape the dream. Instead, we are to quiet ourselves, let ourselves lose track of time and come into a receptive stance. If we relax the grip of our mind and let our attention become diffused, we can begin to make unexpected connections between disparate ideas or things. In the spaciousness between thoughts and intention, between activity and purpose, the vision, the inspiration the dream can slip through into our conscious mind. We can be on the lookout for dreams while we sleep, synchronicities, intuitive messages, signs in nature or a chance encounter. We can cultivate receptivity in meditation or a walk in nature, by engaging in artwork or journaling, through taking time to rest, engage in reverie, or in giving ourself to prayer.

Throw your dreams
into space like a kite,
and you do not know
what it will bring back:
a new life, a new friend,
a new love, a new country.

A Bridge Between
A Stellium in Pisces (Sun, Moon, Saturn, Neptune, Mercury, Ceres and the North Node.)
Pisces is the cosmic waters from which all creation emerges and returns. It is a formless realm where one encounters unity and mystery. It calls to the mystic, the poet or the dreamer within us to woo its fathomless realms for the inspiration that will renew us.
Multiple planets are gathering around the last degrees of the last sign of the Zodiac. The final degrees of Pisces announces the end of an era – the end of a cycle. Neptune at the last degree of Pisces marks the end of a 162-year cycle. Saturn’s arrival to this point in May will mark the closing out of a 30-year cycle. Venus and Mercury Retrogrades are going to pass over these points three times in March and April, bringing our awareness repeatedly to this time of endings and new beginnings, helping to weave a bridge between them. Their upcoming retrogrades will help us to let go of what no longer serves and to find the conviction and courage to stand by what matters most to us.
The Eclipse Season begins with the Pisces New Moon. The veil between worlds is thinner. Past, present and future blend and the lines between dreams, illusions and destiny blur. We can easily feel like we are in an altered stage, one that opens us to the dimension of soul and provides the inspiration to imagine, dream and create. Our ego self diffused, we more readily can feel our inherent connection with everything around and the individual thread our lives weaves into the great tapestry of life. Awareness of the essential Oneness of all created and uncreated can soften our perception of separateness, and magnetically draw us to the dream that bears our name.
An abundance of Pisces can be felt as
Inspiration and Creativity
Spiritual Awareness
Tiredness and a Need to Rest
Grief, fear, or feelings that lead to a deep release
A need to detach from mundane life and engage the numinous
Also…
Confusion, Overwhelm and Exhaustion
Missing details, offramps or meetings
Escapist Behavior to avoid engaging the Pisces New Moon invitation.
Time of Letting Go. At the end of a cycle, we discover aspects of our life come to a close. Some are personal and some we are experiencing as a collective. We can look to what no longer bears fruit or holds any future promise and clear it away. By divesting and letting go of what prevents forward movement, we create the space for the new to enter. It may be as simple as letting ourselves receive rest and quiet, or to have time we cannot account for, to provide the conditions for the new dream to unexpectedly reveal itself.

You see things;
and you say, ‘Why?’
But I dream things
that never were;
and I say,
‘Why not?’
George Bernard Shaw
Big Picture Context for the Pisces New Moon
To understand the potent invitation of the Pisces New Moon, it is helpful to view it within the context of the planetary movements of March. March is the pivot point of 2025, where we effectively shift away from something and towards what can only be called transformative change and a paradigm shift in how we live (indicated by the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto changing signs within months of each other -which I have spoken to in previous newsletters).
Venus Retrograde (March 1 – April 23 10 Aries to 24 Pisces)
Total Lunar Eclipse (March 14 at 24 Virgo)
North Node conjunct Neptune, Mercury, Venus three times.
March 11: Mercury conjunct Venus at 8 Aries (same position as the March 29 eclipse point)
Solar Eclipse (March 29 at 8 Aries)
March 30: Neptune enters Aries
The recent Mars Retrograde (December 6 – February 24) was integral to helping us prepare for the sea of rapid change that is on our doorstep. We were slowed down, even thwarted from moving our life forward, so we could re-evaluate plans and attachments, and our feelings associated with them. Our job was not to try get around the slow down and just push forward (which may have resulted in exhaustion and frustration). The last few months provided a time of preparation and catch up so we can better move with the waves of rapid change that are approaching. Emerging from the Mars Retrograde, we are lined up to encounter the shifts taking place in March.
Venus Retrograde (March 1 – April 13) and Mercury Retrograde (March 14 – April 7) will begin their retrograde journeys in Aries, the sign of new beginnings. Their extended stay in Aries will serve to feed and revitalize our courage so we better trust ourselves and take action with increased confidence and resolve. Aries can be impetuous and so it is wise to exercise to patience during this time, not get ahead of ourselves or actions that are rash and impulsive.
During their retrogrades, Venus and Mercury slide back into Pisces, to rejoin Neptune and the North Node to contemplate the finality of endings, the point of no return, and our willingness to surrender and open ourself to grace. We can feel the spark of new ventures, new possibilities, but there is more cleanup that needs to be undertaken. We are to acknowledge and integrate the lessons and gifts that are leaving us. We are being given added time to tie up lose ends, grieve what has passed and release it. For each of us change will look different, but we are each encounter some way of living that has completed - we have only to write the final lines of this chapter in our life, so we are ready to turn the page and start fresh.
The first of two eclipses in March is a total lunar eclipse on March 14. The path of the eclipse will go across the entire United States and most of the Americas, indicating that these countries will experience the direct influenced of the eclipse. With the North Node in Pisces, many of the themes of the current Pisces New Moon will be reinforced with both eclipses. The Solar Eclipse on March 29 at 8 Aries will occur within a degree of where both Mercury and Venus station before turning Retrograde, so we can look to where 8 Aries falls in our chart to identify where new beginnings and new confidence to emerge. This eclipse is the ignition point giving us the courage to stand up for what we most believe in and the dream we wish to pursue. The current Pisces New Moon marks the time the new dream is seeded and will be ready to sprout with the March 29 eclipse.

A single dream
is more powerful
than a thousand realities.

The In-Between Time
New Moon Ruler: Neptune conjunct the North Node
After 16 years, this is Neptune’s last month in Pisces completing a 162 year cycle. This marks a time of feeling between lives, between dreams, between who we have been and who we will be. It is a between the trapeze bars moment: when we must let of one bar and trust we will catch the next. Yet after letting go, there is a moment we are not holding onto anything, not to the past or to the future. We may feel like we are floating in a kind of limbo or void where we no longer identify with the way we have identified ourself, yet we are not yet able to try on or wear the identify of our future self. Deepening a spiritual practice or looking to trust the unfoldment of life can mitigate any anxiety or confusion that can surface. It is less about figuring it all out, and more about trusting and opening to intuition. We want to adapt and flow with what emerges.
When Neptune enters Aries on March 30, the new dream, the new era begins. It will be marked by invention and innovation, by spiritual warriorship, social activism and more. The last time Neptune entered Aries, three days later the Civil War was launched. We also saw the invention of electricity which radically changed human civilization. We can look to past cycles of Neptune in Aries to give us clues as to what we may experience this time around, but we don't really know. But we can expect is there will be something new introduced and a desire to stand up and fight for what we value.
The lineup in planets in Pisces are assisted by
Mars direct trine Saturn. This is a stabilizing force which helps to counter the ethereal, fluid dreaming energies of so many planets in Pisces. With no other planets in earth signs (except Uranus) Mars having brings a clarity (having just emerged from his retrograde cycle) that helps steady and ground us. We have forged new connections around what will best nurture ourselves and provide the security we need (Mars in Cancer for virtually 8 months).
Jupiter square the New Moon amplifies the Pisces impulse: We are better connected to our feeling nature and what feels good or doesn’t feel good. Jupiter's presence helps mitigate confusion so that we can move with confidence to release what needs to be released. We are supported in recognizing and finding the words to articulate true inspiration when it arrives.
Uranus sextile Mercury and Saturn helps us to fully clear out what it is time to release from our lives and to facilitate the communications, agreements or tasks needed to accomplish this. Our mind (Mercury) is supported in getting out of the box of habitual thinking (Uranus) while also having the discernment (Saturn) to recognize if what we are visioning is realizable or just fantasy. It can be advantageous to write down our inspirations and seek others who resonate with or even share our dream with us.

Sometimes a dream almost whispers,
it never shouts. So you have to,
every day of your lives, be ready
to hear what whispers in your ear.
Steven Spielberg
In Conclusion
With so many planets in the sign of the Dreamer, we are reminded that life is a dream. All that we have will one day dissolve back into the formless waters of the deep from which all dreams emerge and eventually return. Recognizing that all we hold is fleeting, we can loosen our grip to things we are attached to having. We can then cherish what we have and let go of what no longer gives us life. When we release something that once held meaning, we then have an open hand to receive, catch and hold a new dream. The new dream will slowly take root in our mind and over time feed our day to day reality.
We are living in an historic time of change and transformation. We may not see what is around the bend, but we can begin to feel it, get messages about it, or have visions in our dreams that point to its nature. I invite us to find time to relax our schedule and relax our adherence to time so enter a space and a spaciousness where we allow ourselves to wander, meander, entertain whimsy and engage in a reverie that carries us into a vast sky of hope or a deep silence that reveals a new impulse, a new way.
